Founded by Maxime Debert, Assila was born from a simple belief: the most memorable journeys are those that foster genuine connections and leave a lasting impression.

Its name comes from an ancient Arabic word meaning determination—the inner strength that drives us to pursue a dream despite the obstacles. It is this determination that guided every step of our journey.

The Assila story began in Marrakech with Riad Hima. The word Hima, also rooted in ancient Arabic, means sanctuary: a protected place, a symbol of refuge and hospitality. Together, these two names embody the very essence of our vision—a dream brought to life through determination, creating a place where every guest can truly feel at home.

Here, the authenticity of Moroccan hospitality is paired with meticulous attention to detail, an uncompromising commitment to quality, and understated elegance inspired by the finest boutique properties.
